These are the two Caliburns we keep in stock, and people ask us to choose between them most days. On paper they look close — same 35W ceiling, same cartridges, same USB-C charging. The decision is not really about specifications.
G4 Pro Koko if you want to see and change what it is doing. G5 Lite if you want to never think about it.
Everything below is why.
Caliburn G4 Pro Koko — 2000mAh · 35W · 2.0-inch touch screen · stepless airflow · side fill · battery percentage on screen · USB-C 5V/2A · GPP cartridges
Caliburn G5 Lite — 1600mAh · 35W · no buttons, auto-draw · dual airflow, MTL or RDL · top fill · 4-bar LED and a 360° window · USB-C · GPP cartridges
Both run to 35W and both take the same cartridges. Everything that separates them is on the two lines above.
The G4 Pro Koko's 2-inch touch screen is genuinely good. You get wattage, battery percentage and puff count without guessing, and you change the output with a finger rather than clicking a button five times. If you run a 0.9Ω on 20mg salts during the day and drop to a 0.6Ω on a shortfill in the evening, that is a real convenience rather than a spec-sheet flourish.
It also makes the device something you interact with. Some people like that. Plenty do not.
The G5 Lite has no screen and no button. You fill it, put the pod in, and draw. The only feedback is a four-bar LED for battery. There is nothing to set, so there is nothing to set wrong.
We sell the G5 Lite most often to people who have recently stopped smoking, because the last thing that helps at that point is a menu.
2000mAh against 1600mAh sounds decisive, and the G4 Pro Koko will last longer. But the screen draws power the G5 Lite does not spend, so the gap in real use is smaller than the numbers suggest — call it a comfortable day and a bit for both, depending on the resistance you run and how hard you vape.
If you want the longest possible run between charges, take the G4 Pro Koko. If you want the smallest thing that still lasts the day, the G5 Lite.
This is the one place the "Lite" wins outright. Its dual airflow system switches between a tight mouth-to-lung draw — the cigarette-like inhale most switchers want — and a looser restricted direct-to-lung one. That is a proper switch between two styles, not a gradual tightening.
The G4 Pro Koko has stepless airflow, which adjusts smoothly across a range. It is more finely adjustable, but it is one style adjusted, rather than two styles offered.
If you are not sure yet whether you want MTL or DTL, the G5 Lite lets you try both properly.
Both take GPP cartridges, so if you own one and buy the other, your spares carry over. Both are also compatible with Caliburn G3 pods, which matters if you are coming from a G3 or a G4 and have a drawer full of them.
Resistances run 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.9Ω and 1.2Ω. Higher for a tighter, cooler draw on high-strength salts; lower for a warmer, more open one.
Buy the G4 Pro Koko if you adjust your wattage, you like knowing your battery percentage, or you want the biggest battery in the range.
Buy the G5 Lite if you have just switched from cigarettes, you want to choose between MTL and RDL, or you want a device that asks nothing of you.
There is no wrong answer here on performance — they are the same 35W and the same cartridges. It is a question of how much device you want.
Both are in stock in Kingsthorpe and Duston, and you are welcome to hold them before you decide. See also the full Caliburn range compared.
Two Northampton shops and a website, run by the same friendly team.
Try before you buy: pop in to Duston or Kingsthorpe, pick a kit up, try the draw, and we'll help you choose and set it up.
