VooPoo launched the Argus G4 and the Argus G4 Mini together, and on the shelf they look like a big and small version of the same kit. They nearly are. Both have the same 1650mAh battery and both take every Argus pod. The difference is how much you want to control, and how much you want to carry.

Battery is not the difference

People assume the Mini is the one that runs out first. It is not. Both carry 1650mAh, so on the same pod at the same power they last about as long. The full-size G4 charges a little faster, at 2A against 1.5A.

What the G4's extra £12 buys

A screen. You see your wattage, battery and puffs. If you like to know exactly where you are, this is worth it alone.

0.4Ω and 35W. A double-press of the side button drops the G4's pod to 0.4Ω for a warmer, bigger lung hit, and the extra power is there to drive it. VooPoo describe the Mini's pod as flipping between 0.7Ω and 1.0Ω, so the Mini is built for mouth-to-lung and tighter draws.

A second pod. Two in the box, so you have a spare ready when the first one wears out.

A heavier, more solid feel. The leather panel and zinc body feel more expensive. Some people want that, some want the lightest thing in their pocket.

What the Mini does better

It is lighter and simpler. 56g of aluminium, no screen to crack, nothing to scroll through. Fill it, flip the pod to the resistance you like, and vape.

It is almost half the price. £14 is a very low price for a proper refillable kit. If you are moving off disposables, it pays for itself fast.

Same pods either way

So which one?

Buy the G4 Mini if you vape nic salts mouth-to-lung, you want it light, or you are coming from disposables and want a cheap, proper start.

Buy the G4 if you want a screen, want to vape 0.4Ω, or like a kit that feels solid in the hand.
