Riot Squad E-Liquid — A Guide to the Range
Riot Squad have been on UK shelves for years, and they're one of the ranges people ask for by name rather than by flavour. Made in the UK, sold in both shortfill and nic salt, and known for fruit blends that are sweet without being sickly.
Here's what's in the range and how to pick.
Shortfill or nic salt?
Riot Squad sell in both formats, and the format matters more than the flavour when it comes to whether you'll enjoy it.
Nic salt — smaller bottles, higher nicotine (10mg or 20mg), smoother on the throat. Designed for pod kits and MTL devices with coils above 0.8Ω. If you own a Caliburn, an Xlim or anything similar, this is your format.
Shortfill — larger bottles of nicotine-free liquid that you add a nic shot to (or vape at 0mg). High VG, made for sub-ohm kits and clouds. If you own a tank at 40W+, this is your format.
Putting a 20mg salt in a sub-ohm coil is harsh and wasteful. Putting a high-VG shortfill in a 1.2Ω pod gives you a weak, muted vape. Nic salt vs freebase explains the difference properly, and PG vs VG covers why the thickness matters.
The flavours worth knowing
Pink Grenade — the signature. Sweet pink fruits with a sharp edge; the one most people mean when they say "the Riot one". Consistently our best-selling flavour in the range.
Purple Burst — dark berries, slightly tart. If Pink Grenade is too sweet for you, this is the sibling to try.
Tropical Fury — mango and passionfruit territory. Fuller and rounder than the berry flavours, and a strong all-day candidate.
Cherry Cola — properly cola, not just cherry with fizz. A good change-of-pace flavour if you're getting palate fatigue.
Menthol Cherry and Menthol Melon — the cooled fruits. Menthol Cherry in particular converts a lot of people who thought they only liked plain menthol.
Rich Black Grape — grape done as a deep, jammy flavour rather than a boiled sweet.
Sweet Leaf and Cream Leaf — tobacco-adjacent options for anyone who wants something less fruity. Sweet Leaf is the sweeter of the two.
Menthol Tobacco — straightforward, and one of the better options if you've recently switched from menthol cigarettes.
Riot X — the newer sub-range, leaning into bar-style flavour profiles like Blue Razz Sour Watermelon. Worth a look if you came off disposables and miss those flavours.
Which to buy first
If you've just switched from smoking and you're on a pod kit, start with Pink Grenade at 20mg if you like sweet, or Menthol Tobacco at 20mg if you want something closer to a cigarette. Both are forgiving, and both are easy to reorder because we keep them in stock.

A note on coil life
Riot Squad's fruit flavours are sweetened, like most modern UK e-liquid. Sweeteners caramelise onto mesh coils and shorten their life — that's a trade-off, not a fault, and it applies across the category.

Is Riot Squad made in the UK? Yes — UK manufactured and TPD-compliant, which is why bottle sizes are what they are.
What nicotine strength should I buy? 20mg salt if you were a regular smoker, 10mg if you were light or you're stepping down. Our guide has the detail.
Can I use a nic salt in a sub-ohm tank? Technically yes, practically no — it will be harsh and you'll get through a lot of nicotine. Keep salts to pod kits.
What's the difference between Riot Squad and Riot X? Riot X leans toward the sweeter, bar-style flavour profiles that came out of the disposable market. Same manufacturer.
