Voopoo PnP vs PnP X: Which Cartridge Fits Your Drag?

Temple of Vape Team · August 24, 2026

This is the one we fix at the counter more than any other, and it is not the customer's fault. PnP and PnP X are one letter apart, the packets look alike, and the devices that take them are named almost identically.

They do not swap. Here is how to get it right.

Which does your device take?

PnP fits:

  • Drag X, Drag S, Drag Max, Drag E60

  • Vinci, Vinci X, Vinci Q, Vinci Air

PnP X fits:

  • Drag X2, Drag S2, Drag X3, Drag S3

  • Drag 5, Drag H80S

The pattern, if you want one: the original Drag X and Drag S take PnP. Anything with a number after the letter - X2, S2, X3, S3 - takes PnP X. The Drag 5 does too.

If your device is a Drag 3 or Drag 4, you are on neither - those take TPP coils, which is a third platform again.

Why it catches people out

Two reasons, and both are Voopoo's doing rather than yours.

The names are too close. A Drag X and a Drag X2 are one character apart on the box, and if you have owned the device for two years you may not remember which you bought.

The packets look similar. PnP and PnP X sit next to each other on a shelf in near-identical boxes. It is very easy to pick up the wrong one in a hurry, and the difference only becomes obvious when it will not seat.

How to check before you buy

Look at the device, not the packet. The model name is printed on the body of every Drag, usually near the base or under the pod.

Check what is already in it. Slide the cartridge out - PnP X cartridges are noticeably larger, and the coil is built in rather than pushed into a separate pod.

**Or use the coil finder.** Type the device name and it tells you which part you need, whether or not we stock it.

Or bring it in. Either Northampton shop will identify it in a minute, and we would rather do that than sell you the wrong cartridge twice.

What you can buy here

  • PnP coils — 0.15Ω, 0.3Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω, for the Drag X, S, Max, E60 and the Vinci range

  • PnP X cartridges — for the X2, S2, X3, S3 and Drag 5

Which resistance?

PnP has the wider spread. The 1.2Ω and 0.8Ω give a tight, cool mouth-to-lung draw and suit 20mg nic salts. The 0.3Ω and 0.15Ω are for direct-lung vaping on shortfills, and they will get through liquid and battery quickly.

PnP X runs 0.2Ω and 0.3Ω - both direct-lung. If you want a tight cigarette-like draw, a PnP X device is not really built for it.

That is worth knowing *before* you choose a kit, not after. If you have just stopped smoking and want an MTL draw, the older PnP platform or a smaller pod kit will suit you better than a Drag 5.

If you already bought the wrong one

Bring it back unopened and we will swap it. It happens constantly and nobody minds.
