Vaping rules in the UK have moved fast over the last couple of years. If you're trying to keep track of what's actually legal in 2026, here's the plain-English round-up — no jargon, just what applies to you.
These have been in place for years and aren't changing:
Age of sale is 18. It's illegal to sell vapes or e-liquid to anyone under 18.
Nicotine strength is capped at 20mg/ml (2.0%) for consumer products. That's why you'll only ever see 10mg and 20mg nic salts.
Tank and bottle limits. Pre-filled tanks/pods max out at 2ml, and nicotine e-liquid is sold in bottles up to 10ml.
Products must be notified to the MHRA before they can be sold.
Single-use disposable vapes are now banned from sale in the UK, on environmental grounds. If you used disposables, the switch is to a refillable pod kit — cheaper to run and better for the planet. The big money change this year: a new Vaping Products Duty adds a flat charge per 10ml of e-liquid from 1 October 2026. Switching from smoking is still fully legal and encouraged for adult smokers — none of this changes the health case for switching.
Ex-disposable users should move to a refillable kit; a kit under £20 does the job.
Everyone may want to buy e-liquid a little ahead of the October duty.

The simple version: buy from a proper UK retailer, you're 18 or over, and you stick to compliant products (which everything we sell is). Do that and you don't need to think about any of the above — it's all handled for you.
