OXVA NeXlim 2 vs Xlim Pro 3 — Which Is Right for You?

Temple of Vape Team · August 26, 2026

This is the OXVA question we get asked most in the shops, and it's a fair one — the NeXlim 2 and the Xlim Pro 3 are priced within a few pounds of each other and both do the same core job.

The difference is what each one prioritises.

The short answer

  • NeXlim 2 — newer, simpler, larger pods. Buy it if you want fewer refills and less fiddling.

  • Xlim Pro 3 — more control and the widest pod choice in the UK. Buy it if you like adjusting things.

Both are refillable MTL pod kits with a tight, cigarette-like draw.

NeXlim 2 — the case for it

The NeXlim 2 is the second generation of OXVA's simpler line, and the headline advantage is the pod capacity. NeXlim pods run to 4ml where the Xlim family sits at 2ml, which in practice means noticeably fewer refills through a day.

It's also the more straightforward device. Fewer settings, less to get wrong, and a modern coil that performs well without tuning.

There's a NeXlim 2 Mini too, if size matters more to you than battery, and a NeXlim Go at the simpler end of the line.

The catch: NeXlim pods are a different family from Xlim pods. They're widely available, but not as universally stocked as Xlim. Check what your local shop carries before you commit.

Xlim Pro 3 — the case for it

The Pro 3 is the flagship, and what you're paying for is real:

  • Adjustable wattage and airflow — genuine tuning, not two presets.

  • A clear display for puff count, battery and setting.

  • USB-C fast charging.

  • Xlim pod compatibility — the widest-stocked pod family in the UK, in 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω.

That last point is the strongest argument for the Pro 3. You will always be able to buy pods for it.

We've covered it against its siblings in Xlim Pro 3 vs NeXlim, Xlim Pro 2 vs Pro 3 and Xlim Pro 3 vs Xlim 3 Ultra.

Head to head

Pod capacity: NeXlim 2 (4ml) beats Xlim Pro 3 (2ml). Fewer refills.

Pod availability: Xlim Pro 3 wins, comfortably. The Xlim family is everywhere.

Control: Xlim Pro 3. The NeXlim 2 deliberately doesn't offer it.

Simplicity: NeXlim 2. Fill it, vape it, done.

Battery: close enough that it shouldn't decide it for you.

Which one suits which person

First refillable after disposables: NeXlim 2. The bigger pod and the simpler operation both help. Pair with 20mg nic salt.

You already vape and like tinkering: Xlim Pro 3.

You want to never worry about finding pods: Xlim Pro 3.

You hate refilling: NeXlim 2, for the 4ml pods.

You want clouds: neither — see pod kits vs vape pens vs box mods.

Running costs

Both are cheap to run compared with what most people used before. The variable is pods, not liquid.

  • Prime every new pod and wait five minutes before the first draw — how to prime a vape coil.

  • Refill at about a quarter left, not empty.

  • Heavy dessert and sweet flavours shorten pod life. SKE Crystal and MaryLiq are both sweet ranges — lovely, but not kind to coils.

Frequently asked questions

Do NeXlim and Xlim pods interchange? No. They're separate pod families — buy the right ones for your device.

Is the NeXlim 2 better than the original NeXlim? It's the newer generation with refinements, and it keeps the large-pod advantage.

Which resistance for 20mg nic salt? 1.2Ω, or 0.8Ω for a bit more warmth. Avoid 0.6Ω at 20mg.

Which would you hand someone quitting smoking this week? The NeXlim 2, for the simplicity — unless they've told you they enjoy adjusting settings, in which case the Pro 3.
